‘Earthlings‘ - an organic baby clothing company, has a customer base that is very passionate about their products and brand, and so wanted to create a special online community for them to interact. They wanted to offer parents, grandparents and anyone with a special little one in their lives a place to ask questions or share their thoughts, knowledge and experience, and so they set up a SocialGO network!
Hannah said SocialGO was the third networking platform she’d tried out, and “loved how easy it was to customize the network, and to integrate with their website”. She said she “found lots of features we’d previously been unable to find in one place, such as status updates, privacy, site integration, music – and the list goes on…”
With limited advertising funds as a small start-up business, the Earthlings team noted that their target market is one that responds extremely well to the social networking environment, and their idea was to offer potential customers a place to network, meet friends and have fun while at the same time giving them a reason to keep coming back to the site. The network creator said “Since setting up the network we have not looked back. The support we have received from the SocialGO team has been fantastic. And, whilst for a long time we’ve really wanted a social network on our site we lacked the resources necessary to do it ourselves (in terms of storage, bandwidth or programming skills), and this made SocialGO the ideal choice for us.”
Earthlings parentBook now has over 250 members, and is a great example of how a network can be created to run alongside and promote an existing business. It is also an excellent example of how with a simple knowledge of HTML and CSS, you can really individualize your network to make it completely relevant to your needs.
