GuyanaX is a social network with the major objective of linking Guyanaʼs Ten Administrative Regions and the Caribbean Islands, in an effort to foster a respective social relationship in a positive environment.
It was important to build a dynamic social network that changed with its environment according Fries Noorhassan, its founding member, and “not merely create another static social network, which people would not find engaging”.

Since today’s social networking is ever-changing, GuyanaX had to find the right network builder, “and that’s when we discovered SocialGO” explains Noorhassan, “a social platform that is feature rich, with lots of web 2.0 tools, a platform that keeps up to date with all changes that are occurring in cyberspace, a network that our Guyanese and Caribbean people are willing to support”.
Since its launch in early December 2008, GuyanaX has proven immensely popular thanks to its member approved content which includes amongst many things, photo and music sharing facilities, as well as blogs and news feeds.
Noorhassan says “it’s important that we state that GuyanaX does not only measure performance by how many members it has in its database, even if these are significant, but rather we measure performance by the level of member activity, which currently stands at over 3000 page views in under a four week period”.

The team behind GuyanaX is continuously striving to improve the network, with little innovative ideas they implement here and there. Their aim is to have a social network which stands out amongst the Caribbean islands, as it already is in Guyana.
Noorhassan believes his project will stand out and achieve its main objective thanks to SocialGO’s flexible and controllable platform, including but not limited to, complete network control with the easy to use admin panel and advance API integration.
(In building the site, the GuyanaX team wishes to extend special gratitude to Ryan from SGT & WidgetLaboratory.com for all their little help, tips and advice.)
