Featured Networks

Based in Denton, Texas, forumliving.com is a social network dedicated to a 1,200 room student community accommodating those who attend any of the 2 nearby universities. William Blitz, President of the company responsible for the layout and design of the site, says, ‘We wanted to test a social network as an alternative to using old-style roommate matching questionnaires. The residents of the student community are invited to create a profile and use the network to find roommates and connect on a fun and social level.’

Initially weary that a social network might not solve the roommate matching needs, all concern was put to rest once the site was launched on the SocialGO platform: ‘It turns out this is working quite well. We’ve dedicated the forum topics to roommates as well,’ he says.

The attractive, sleek design of the site is immediately evident - ‘We liked that SocialGO gave us the ability to hand-craft the CSS design, and also the admin controls that SocialGO provides for design elements function very well. Together it is possible to get the look and feel pretty well customized.’

Forumliving.com’s hundreds of unique members use the site daily, and among ads related to seeking roommates, groups can be found dedicated to the pets of those who live in the community, and the news section is frequently updated with information related to students’ scholastic achievements as well as information on upcoming school productions and scholarship deadlines.

‘We chose SocialGO after months of research covering the whole spectrum,’ William continued. ‘In the end, we liked the energy that your founders were giving to the project, including very prompt and thoughtful replies to our questions.’

William says he’s ‘Very much looking forward to the next chapter of plugins and further customizations’ that SocialGO will provide - and to that we say we are very much looking forward to the undoubtedly brilliant customization he will make once the next chapter is here.
